The Start of Something Wonderful...

Less than two years ago I met Morgan after transferring to UMASS Amherst to start my sophomore year of college. Surprisingly, Morgan was more like myself than I am. We had equivalent goals, aspiring to one day become interior designers, although we are both Communications majors, we were continuously inspired by art, lighting, furniture & people. We quickly came to the realization that interior design was the perfect match. But where do we begin? We began by dreaming big. Reading magazines, strolling around the home departments of various stores in our spare time (we couldn't leave Target without first obsessing over Nate Berkus' new line of decor), pinning everything we could find on Pinterest & soon moving into an apartment with our third roommate Kate where we would complete a multitude of DIY projects in order to make our apartment absolutely perfect. Of course, this is still a work in progress as we just moved in in August but it's coming along (More posts about the apartment's projects to come). Recently we began to dream even bigger... as our idea for Macanoon was born. Our goal: To create an interior design and home business within the next 15 years, after of course, we make it through grad school, various internships, part-time jobs & years of experience. We talked for hours endlessly planning how we were going to get there. And this blog is where we decided to begin. We will attempt to inspire people through creativity, art & design. This blog will not only be about interior design, but about all things glittery, yummy & beautiful. And here the story begins. Enjoy.
