Happy New Year Bloggers! We're a little late, but you know how it is with the holidays, NON-STOP busy. I'd love to share with you some of our plans, and hopes & dreams for 2015. First of all, I would like to say that I never really understood the "new year, new you" statement. Why would I want a new me?? No, no. How about this year we all embrace the old us! No need for a different us; maybe some improvements, like everyone, I could exercise a little more frequently, work a little harder, complain a little less, love a little more. But this year, I'm going to embrace the old me, or at least the good things that the old me has done, I don't want a new me, and I encourage you to do the same!
This year is a big one for Macanoon. 2015 will be full of changes for us, as we graduate UMASS this spring, work endlessly to find a job, take full advantage of Western, MA before we move to god-knows where after graduation. Macanoon has plans to travel to Europe this summer as well! Lots of exciting and terrifying changes ahead.
Here are a few of my new years resolutions:
Recycle & Sustainability; This is something so interesting and important to me, yet it gets so easy to get lazy. This year is different! Going to start by creating a compost pile in the backyard (something I've been meaning to do for a while). P.S. Congrats to MORGAN for becoming a recent vegetarian. We recommend you watch the documentary Cowspiracy to learn about the effects of eating meat on our environment. I'm sure Morgan will check in soon and tell you all about her new lifestyle, maybe even give you some ideas for some yummy vegetarian recipes she has discovered!
Blogging; Morgan and I have made a pact that this year is the year, we're going to make sure to blog more this year and fully launch the Macanoon blog. Be on the look out for more frequent posts.
Appreciate; I'm going to try to truly appreciate life this year, live in the moment, thank people for things they've helped me with, compliment people, enjoy the weather (or at least try to, it's hard during those -1 degree New England winter days).
Portfolio; The dreaded design portfolio. This thing is an equivalent challenge to climbing Mount Everest. (Nearly impossible!) I'm just never satisfied with it, and constantly wanting new and improved material. Such a challenge. But this year I'm going to try my very best to get it up and running. Look for Morgan & I's portfolio links on the blog soon, we'll keep you updated.
Health; Mentally and physically. I need to drink more water that's something I'm awful at. Luckily, thanks to Morgan I have my new Contigo Glass water bottle to use! Thanks Morgs! xoxo. I'm going to try yoga too. I really hate yoga, but I really want to love it so, mine as well give it a shot in 2015!
Anyways enough about me, lets hear about your New Years resolutions!
own it.
