Work Hard Play Hard

Decorating a home office is extremely underrated. It can be hard to find a system of organization that will work for you, let alone figuring out how to decorate it.  Not to mention the pressure there is to make it not only comfortable and orderly but at the same time speaks to your design style. No matter what kind of job you have everyone should have a home office, even if all that entails is a desk.  Whether you’re starting from scratch or re-creating your home office following these steps will allow you to have the best designed and well-thought out office there is.

1         Usage: what are you using your office for? Maybe it’s a place for you to pay the bills and keep all of the medial paperwork filed, or it’s an area you have for the kids to do there homework, or its where you will build your company from ground up. Whatever it may be figuring out what you will use it for will allow you to organize it accordingly.

2
Organization: How will you organize your office is huge. You need to create a system that will be easy for you to stay on top of and that will give everything a place. You could do this using shelves, binders, filing system..Etc.

3    Color Scheme: When decorating an office you don’t want to pick colors that are too bold or hard to look at for a long period of time. I find that the best way to find a good color is choosing one that’s in a landscape you find most relaxing and rejuvenating. Maybe you think that looking at a mountain range is relaxing so you could pick a light shade of gray, corresponding to the rock. Or maybe you think the beach is relaxing then you could pick a cool blue.

4     Adding Some Sparkle: It’s important to find some quirky elements that you can put in your office that speak to your interests. This could be anything from a quote that you framed, a big comfy chair, a vintage lamp or even some pictures from a memorable event.  You don’t want to make it come across cluttered, so keep it to a minimum.
