Photo 101

Photography ain't easy. That's why I've forced myself to enroll in Photography I this semester. I'm regretting the decision seeing as how it's nearly impossible for me to take good pictures. Add manual camera settings to that and it's over. Thank god for the iPhone that makes it almost impossible to take a bad pictures, and thank you Instagram for your easy-to-use filters.

Praise goes out to you photography people. That's a true talent that no one should mess with. Needless to say, this photography class isn't easy for me, but I know it'll be beneficial. Especially since I want to be an interior designer, and want to share wonderful things with you here on the blog, which means I need to improve my picture taking skills. I am very skilled at taking awful pictures, however. You want a blurry photo that's taken at the worst possible angle, I'm your girl.

Aperture, shutter speed, lens, those words mean nothing to me. But, luckily, because of this class, my photography skills are really coming along. I recommend for those of you who struggle with this like me, to take a class, it REALLY WORKS! Who would have known. And photography can even be relaxing. Which is incredible to me since the past few weeks I've only associated the camera with anxiety and stress. Try making a design blog and a portfolio without being good at taking pictures. Nearly impossible, and I wasn't going to let my bad picture-taking skills stand in my way. Hence, the Photo class. Anyways.. I've really come a long way! Today I went to Northampton, MA, thinking to myself theres no way I can screw up here with so many beautiful buildings and amazing art and graffiti, and I was right! It was ENJOYABLE. Yes I said it, I had a stress free, relaxing, enjoyable day, just me & the camera. I actually took a real picture. and I liked them too! Needless to say for once, I actually had a great time walking around taking pictures of these cool places, despite the frigid temps, so I thought I'd share them!

And I swear to god if I learn any tricks of the trade as I struggle through learning how to work a camera, you'll be the first to know them.
