The best seat in the house: Window Seats

Window seats are often underrated.. but these can be some of the best places in the home if treated the right way. What better place to sit down and read a few chapters of your favorite book, or listen to the new music you just downloaded then in front of the window where you can look out over your beautiful yard. With a simple cushion and pillow combination, a nice big window, and some drawers or shelves, this space can become something special!

Friday's Favorites: The best of Anthropologie This Week

One of the reasons I love Anthropologie is because of their unique assortment of items.. and the fact that they have both a home section & a clothes section. It's the best of both worlds! Oh, and their world famous window displays are amazing too; they've truly mastered the art of installation. The shopping experience in the store is just too much fun. I was browsing through the site today and found some really cool things, so for today's Friday's Faves.. here are my top 6 (because I couldn't decide on 5) must haves for the spring!

Springsations: Fiddle Leaf Figs & Floral Prints

With the official start of Spring only a few days away, it's time to prepare for some fresh air and sunny afternoons. Although this might seem like an impossibility since most of the ground still appears white & there's another storm forecasted for this weekend.. the time WILL come. So, that's why I'm encouraging you to start early and speed up the process.

We've been talking about the Spring a lot after this dreadful winter, but now is the time to hop in. Although the flowers might not be ready to bloom and no gardening can be done just yet, it's still possible to bring some of these Springsations indoors.. With plants and prints! My personal favorite is the fiddle leaf fig tree; nothing says brightening up a corner like this thing! Also, there are so many amazing floral prints out these days, there's barely a need for real flowers yet. So here are some ideas and inspiration to get you thinking SPRING, when it seems like it still might not come, even though the official start is just days away. 

Tiny House Nation: Minimalist Living

This is the coolest thing! I just recently came across Tiny House Nation. This show is totally AWESOME. It shows the cutest, coolest, most innovative small homes. Some are only 200 sq. ft. and under! It's incredible what you can fit in such a small space. But, with such little space come room for true innovation and creativity. These houses are a work of art.

With my growing interest in sustainable design, the discovery of this couldn't have come at a more perfect time. You've GOTTA check this out. I'm going to post some of my favorite video clips of the houses here so you can see what I'm talking about, but I highly recommend watching it. Not only is this new way of life so much better for our environment, its totally cool. It's no wonder so many people are cutting down on belongings and making the transition to minimalist living, look how great these places are!
